Another property of Vitamin C which contributes to its ability to encourage hair regrowth is its action as an antioxidant. Antioxidants are important in promoting skin health and preventing oxidative damage to the cells of hair follicles.
A deficiency in Vitamin C is illustrated in dry brittle hair which splits quickly and easily.
As part of your hair health, it is necessary to make sure that you are getting enough Vitamin C each day so that your hair looks its best. Whole foods work best but taking a supplement helps to compensate for foods that may not be as nutrient rich because of modern farming methods or not eating as much healthy Vitamin C rich food as you should.
