In a biotin deficiency, skin cells are among the first cells to develop symptoms of problems.
In infants, the most common biotin-deficiency symptom is cradle cap. This is a skin condition that is characterised by the dry scaly patches that form on the scalp of some infants.
Biotin vitamin deficiency symptoms may include the following:
- Dry skin
- Premature greying hair and hair loss or poor hair condition like brittle hair
- Tender muscles and muscle cramps, lack of muscle coordination and tone
- Poor appetite

- 1 cup unsalted almonds
- 1 1/2 tbsp pure all natural maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon
- A pinch of salt
Preheat oven to 300 degrees. In a small bowl, combine the maple syrup, cinnamon and pinch of salt with a fork/whisk. Add almonds and coat them evenly. Spread out almonds on a non-stick baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes, stirring every ten minutes. Remove from oven and let cool.
